The Dean and His Delegation Attended the 2023 EFMD Global Annual Conference and Visited Hanze University of Applied Science and Technology in the Netherlands. He also visited Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, the Netherlands.
Chairman Cornuel warmly welcomed our Business School's application for EQUIS accerditation, Mr. Jain introduced EFMD's organizational structure and division of labor, and Ms. Zhu Jiajia introduced EQUIS international accerditation procedures in detail.
From June 11th to June 13th, EFMD 2023 Global Annual Meeting was held in the Emlyon Business School Conference Center. More than 600 deans, directors and professors from universities around the world gathered here. First, EFMD Global President Eric Cornuel delivered the opening remarks. The theme of the conference was "The role of business education in an unstable, unpredictable and unsustainable world." He invited Ms. Isabelle Huault, Dean of Emlyon Business School, and Professor Morris Mthombeni, Dean of Gordon Institute of Business Science University of Pretoria Business School, to address the conference. The conference organized four thematic roundtable forums, including: Leading through uncertainty: How business schools are innovating in turbulent times; Leadership development intimes of turmoil; Careers and purpose: the search of truth; Climate leadership: Dilemmas forbusiness leaders. Eleven deans and scholars shared their views. The conference featured 12 parallel forums covering trends in responsibility research, the EFMD Graduate Career Development Survey, new business models in an unstable, unpredictable and unsustainable world, the focus on business school leadership in a changing climate, the challenge of artificial intelligence to business schools, a corporate survey report on graduate competency needs, and a survey of business leaders. AI challenges for business schools, new perspectives on the impact of teaching, the food business as a source of happiness, best practices for carbon-neutral business schools, an international future, innovations in curriculum, how to achieve stability through a value-creating community in an unpredictable environment. Finally, the EFMD Global Network annual General Assembly and awards ceremony were held.
From June 14 to June 15, he visited Hanze University of Applied Science and Technology, Groningen, the Netherlands. Dr.ir. Aue, Chair Professor of Energy Transition, introduced Centreof Expertise Energy, a center dedicated to the development of hydrogen energy technologies. Dr. Doede Binnema introduced the "Biobased economy" center across four schools, which has made outstanding achievements in organic biological cultivation, hydrogen energy technology, chemical analysis, health medicine, drug cost and price analysis, and has achieved the combination of industry, university and research. Associate Professor Ding Ning reported on the academic achievements in the field of business education research in the past decade as well as teaching reform initiatives such as Cooc Student Learning Ambassadors. Finally, he met with President Dick Pouwels, and the two sides said that they will strengthen the cooperation and exchange of scientific research and talent cultivation between the universities, relying on the global Alliance of small and medium enterprises led by Hanze.
The 8-day visit was fruitful and laid a solid foundation for the Business School to pass the Equis International Business School accreditation and consolidate and expand cooperation and exchanges with Dutch universities.
