On December 4, 2024, from 12:30 to 13:30, the Business School of Beijing Technology and Business University held the 2025 Illinois-Chicago Summer Exchange Program Presentation at 501, Fucheng Road Campus, and 105, Floor 3, Liangxiang Campus. The seminar was hosted by the International Department of Beijing Technology and Business University, hosted by the International Communication Center of the Business School, co-organized by the Youth League Committee of the Business School, presided over by Mr. Li, Director of the International Communication Center, and Ms. Lu Yu, Deputy director. More than 200 students participated in the seminar.
The University of Illinois at Chicago Summer Exchange program aims to broaden students' international perspectives, enhance their professional abilities, and experience the unique cultural charm of Chicago, an international city. The program includes specialized courses taught by senior UIC professors and industry experts on corporate finance, marketing, green economy, business ethics, and strategic management, as well as field visits from professional institutions such as the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, the Futures Exchange, and the Green Technology Center. In addition, students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Chicago's cityscape, visiting many of the top universities, including the University of Chicago and Northwestern University, to experience the full breadth of the city's deep cultural heritage and modern vitality.
At the presentation, Mr. Jeff Wang, Director of UIC's International Exchange Program, gave the students a detailed introduction to Chicago's urban charm, UIC's features, safety issues, and program curriculum and schedule. In the Q&A session, students were eager to ask questions about the visa process, weekend activities and obtaining professor recommendation letters. The atmosphere was warm.
Subsequently, Ms. Zhang Jialin and Ms. Mou Yidan, two students of Class 223 who have participated in summer programs of University of Oxford in the UK and University College Cork in Ireland, shared their summer program experiences and gains. They vividly depict the wonderful moments of participating in international class discussions, forming friendships with students from all over the world, and exploring local cultures, which gave the students great expectations for international exchange programs and a deeper understanding of how to take advantage of this valuable opportunity.
Finally, Ms. Zhang Haojue, deputy director of the International Communication Center of the Business School, shared his experience of studying and working in the United States, bringing a wealth of personal insights. These experiences not only show the multiple perspectives of cross-cultural learning, but also provide valuable inspiration for students and teachers to explore the path of international development.
The successful holding of this seminar not only deepened the students' understanding of the summer exchange program of Illinois-Chicago, but also stimulated their enthusiasm to participate in international exchange activities, laying a solid foundation for future cross-cultural learning and career development.
